Prepare your spreadsheet
Which files Preb accepts and which columns each row needs.
Updated
Preb reads CSV and Excel files (XLSX). Most exports from an ATS, a CRM or LinkedIn work without changes. The first row should contain column names.
Limits
- Up to 10,000 rows per file. Longer files are cut after row 10,000, so split them first.
- Up to 20 MB per file.
- One sheet. For an Excel workbook, Preb reads the first sheet.
Columns Preb understands
| Column | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Full name | Jane Doe | Or two columns, First name and Last name. |
| Company | Acme Inc | The employer's name. |
| Domain | acme.com | The company website. Gives better matches than the name alone. |
| LinkedIn URL | linkedin.com/in/janedoe | The strongest input. Also brings job title, company and location. |
| jane@acme.com | Lets Preb identify the person when nothing else is there. |
What a row needs
A row can be enriched when it has one of these: a LinkedIn URL, or a name together with a company or a domain. A row with only an email can be identified first, see Identify people from an email address.
A ready-made example is available on the empty Lists page under Download sample CSV, and on the upload step under Download the sample CSV.
