Core concepts & glossary

SalesMarketing

A handful of terms come up again and again across Preb and these docs. Read this once and the rest of the documentation reads much faster. There's a quick-reference table at the bottom.

Workspace

A workspace is your home base in Preb — it owns your booking pages, bookings, contacts, and team members. Each workspace has its own booking link (for example app.preb.co/acme), which is the public web address people use to book with you. You can work solo in a workspace or invite a whole team into it; there's no separate "personal" versus "team" mode.

See Workspaces explained for more.

Event type

An event type is a kind of meeting people can book — like "Discovery Call" or "30-min Demo." It's a reusable template that defines the meeting length, where it happens, who can host it, when it's available, and which questions the booker answers. Your public booking page lists your event types, and each one has its own bookable page.

See Event types overview.

Booking

A booking is a single scheduled meeting — one person, on one event type, at a specific time. When someone books, Preb confirms the time, adds it to the host's calendar, and emails both sides. Bookings can later be rescheduled, cancelled, or marked with an outcome after the call.

Host & co-host

The host is the person running the call — there's exactly one host per booking, and the meeting lands on their calendar. Co-hosts are extra teammates you add to a booking to join the call alongside the host (for example a manager sitting in). The guest is only re-emailed when the host changes, not when co-hosts are added.

See Hosts & co-hosts.

Contact

A contact is a person who's engaged with your booking pages. When someone submits the first step of your booking form, they become a contact — even if they never pick a time. That means you capture leads who drop off, not just people who book. (Per event type, you can go further and save details as visitors type, before they submit — the booking page then shows them a notice saying so.) Each contact is unique by email within a workspace and collects everything you know about them: where they came from, their answers, and where they are in your pipeline.

See Contacts overview.

Pipeline & stages

The pipeline is your view of every contact and where they stand. Preb tracks two separate things on each contact, and it helps to keep them straight:

  • Scheduling status is set automatically by Preb based on what the contact has done — for example Potential, Qualified, Disqualified, or Discovery booked. You don't edit it; it reflects reality.
  • Contact stage is yours to manage. These are the pipeline stages you define for how your team works a deal (for example "Working," "Won," or "Lost"). Every stage rolls up into one of three categories — Active, Won, or Lost — so reporting stays consistent no matter how you name things.

Think of it this way: scheduling status is the system's read on a contact; contact stage is your read.

See Statuses & stages.

Funnel

The funnel is the journey a visitor takes, measured as a drop-off chart in the Insights area. It runs from Page Views → Leads → Bookings → Calls Held → Sales, with a conversion rate at each step so you can see exactly where people fall away. It's the quickest way to answer "what's working and what isn't."

See The funnel explained.
