Call outcomes
SalesAfter a call, you record what happened — did it close, fall through, or turn out not to be a fit? That one record is the heart of your reporting: it creates deals, moves contacts down the pipeline, and reports revenue back to your ad platforms.
Recording an outcome
Open a past call — from Bookings, or from Global Data → Calls — and fill in the outcome form. The questions you see depend on what kind of call it was — Preb knows whether the event type is a Discovery call or a Strategy call (you set that when you create the event type) and asks accordingly.
The Calls tab is the same booking data as a Global Data table: every call as a row with its status, outcome, host, and any custom call fields, plus the usual search, Upcoming / Past rail, filters and Smart Views, and CSV export. Clicking a row opens the same call details and outcome form you know from Bookings — so working through unlogged calls is just: open Calls, filter to Past, record outcomes down the list.
For a Strategy call, you choose how the call ended and, if it was a sale, the deal details. Click Record outcome to save.
The result is final
Once you've recorded whether a call was a Sale, No sale, or Disqualified, that verdict is locked. You can still go back and edit the deal details — amount, currency, payment type, product, notes — but not flip the result. This keeps your revenue reporting trustworthy.
Outcome types
Strategy calls
A Strategy call is a sales call, recorded as one of three results:
- Sale — they bought. You enter the deal details (below), and Preb creates a deal.
- No sale — the call happened but didn't close. You can note why.
- Disqualified — they turned out not to be a fit.
When you pick Sale, you fill in:
- Amount (required) and Currency.
- Payment type — Won (one-time full payment), Deposit (partial, balance later), or Recurring (a subscription).
- Product / offer sold (optional) — e.g. "Strategy call", "Pro plan", "Consulting retainer".
Discovery calls
A Discovery call is a screening or qualifying call, so it's recorded differently — as Approved or Rejected. There's no deal amount, because nothing was sold; you're just recording whether the lead passed the screen.
Objections & reasons
To make your reporting richer, Preb lets you tag why a call went the way it did.
On a Strategy No sale (or a sale that came with pushback), pick the main objection:
- No objection
- Money — budget or price
- Logistics — timing or process
- Partner — needs to consult someone
- Fear — doubts it will work
- Smoke screen — excuses or stalling
On a No sale, you can also record a reason: Follow-up scheduled, Unqualified, Not interested, No show, or Admin / invitee cancelled. There's a free-text box for objections and another for general notes if you want to capture more.
What outcomes trigger
Recording an outcome does more than file a note — it sets off a chain of useful automation:
- A Sale creates a deal. The amount, currency, payment type, and product are saved as a closed deal on the contact, counting toward their revenue immediately.
- The contact's stage advances. A Sale moves the contact to your first Won stage. A No sale, a Disqualified, or a Rejected discovery call moves them to your first Lost stage — the one exception is an Approved discovery call, which passed screening and stays where it is. You can always move a contact back by hand. The automatic scheduling status is never changed by an outcome.
- Revenue is reported to your ad platforms. On a sale, Preb sends a Purchase event to Meta and Google Ads, attributed back to the original ad click — so your ad reporting reflects real closed revenue, not just bookings. This only happens if you've set up tracking.
Why this matters for ads
Reporting closed sales back to Meta and Google is what lets their algorithms optimise for buyers, not just bookers. Recording outcomes promptly directly improves the quality of leads your ads bring in.
Outcome reminders
It's easy to forget to log a call. Preb nudges you two ways:
- In the dashboard, past calls that still need an outcome carry an "Outcome needed" marker on the Bookings list, so nothing slips through.
- By email, the host gets a reminder for any call that ended 24 to 48 hours ago without an outcome recorded — so a missed log gets a prompt within a day or two.
The email reminder can be switched off per workspace in Settings under Outcome reminder emails.
