Event types overview
SalesAn event type is a kind of meeting people can book with you — a "Discovery Call," a "Strategy Session," a "15-minute Intro." Each one carries its own length, location, questions, and availability, and has its own shareable booking link. This page covers how to find, read, and manage your event types.
What is an event type
Think of an event type as a reusable template for one kind of meeting. When you set one up, you decide:
- What it's called and how long it runs.
- Where it happens — Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Zoho Meeting, a phone call, in person (your address or the attendee's), or a custom link. Offer several and let the invitee choose.
- Who can host it and how bookings are shared between them.
- What you ask the person before they book, and when they're allowed to book.
Once an event type exists, it has its own public link. Anyone with that link can pick a time and book — no account needed on their end. You can have as many event types as you like, each tuned for a different kind of conversation.
The Event types screen
Find your event types in the sidebar under Setup → Event types. The screen header reads Event types, and the New Event button (top-right) starts a new one.
Who can create and edit
Only workspace owners and admins see the New Event button and the editing controls. Team members with the Member role see the same list, but read-only.
Your event types appear as a grid of cards. Each card shows the meeting at a glance and gives you quick actions without opening the editor.
Anatomy of an event type
Every card on the Event types screen shows:
- Title — click it to open the full editor.
- Public link path — the web address people book at, shown as
your-workspace/event-name/30min. - Host avatars — the team members who can host this meeting (up to three faces, then a "+2" style chip if there are more). A solo workspace just shows you.
- Duration chip — e.g. "30 min" or "1 hr 30 min."
- Type chip — Collective or Conversion Routing, showing how bookings are shared between hosts. See Scheduling types.
- Hidden chip — appears only when the event type is switched off (not bookable).
At the bottom of each card are quick actions: an Open booking page icon (opens the live link in a new tab), a Copy link icon, and a visibility switch on the right to turn the event type on or off.
Hide instead of delete
Turning the visibility switch off hides an event type from your public page and stops new bookings, but keeps all its settings. It's the safe way to retire a meeting type for a while without losing your setup.
Duplicating & deleting
Open the ⋯ (more options) menu in the top-right corner of any card for:
- Edit — opens the editor (same as clicking the title).
- Duplicate — makes a full copy you can rename and tweak. This is the fastest way to spin up a new meeting that's similar to one you already have.
- Delete — permanently removes the event type after a confirmation prompt.
Deleting doesn't touch existing bookings
Deleting an event type removes the template and its link, but it does not cancel meetings people have already booked. If the event type still has upcoming bookings, Preb asks you to cancel or reschedule those first before it will let you delete it.
Sharing an event type
Each event type has its own direct link. To share one:
Copy the link
Paste it anywhere
app.preb.co/your-workspace/discovery-call.Or preview it first
You can also share your whole workspace page, which lists every visible event type in one place — see Your public booking page.
